ITV Player and 4oD come to PS3 while sales lack Vs Xbox360
Posted by MattyRasker in Gaming, Playstation 3 on Dec 13th, 2010 | 1 commentSeems like the console battle has just got even more interesting today as it has been announced that the PS3 will be getting ITV Player and 4oD by the end of this week. PS3 owners will be sticking that in the face of XBox 360 owners as a one up on them. That means PS3 owners can catch up on pretty much all of their favourite programs from the main UK channels.
However, they shouldn’t get too excited just yet, as it was also announced that Xbox Kinect bundles outsold PS3 and move bundles 5:1 in the US of A. Oh dear. However that doesn’t include non bundle sales, nor does it include the sale of kinect / move devices seperately, so the figures might not be too dissapointing for Sony. Although it is highlighting a very important fact that gamers are not swayed by the multifunction, blu ray, free online play abilities of the Sony PS3 and have opted to stay for the hardcore gamers console that is the Xbox.
And so battle continues….

I will say now that I am not impressed with the 4oD catch up – if you watch it online, you can catch up on virtually ANY Channel 4 program (ALL of the Time Team programs are there), but through PS3, its only the last 30 days! Limited to say the least!
