Networking is a good thing. It gets you to meet people, know them better and learn from each other. In my job it is important to network, not only are you sharing your ideas with others, your also listening to others who are getting their message out. It’s not bad thing, everyone walks away having learnt something, you just have to have the confidence to do it.
At one of the recent ones I went to I met a guy called Amonn, who not only has a huge interest in the web as I do, he also has a huge interest in music like I do too. I spoke to him not only the other evening and said “Hey, have a look at Flock“. So I did.

Flock's tabbed social networking update window
Flock is a browser which has social networking on its mind. It is designed so that you can browse and keep in touch with the contacts you have on the social networking sites you are a part of. It does this by including a seperate navigation window of your main browser window that allows you to “tab” to different networking sites and displays the latest updates from your contacts.
With major players such as IE and Firefox complying with the W3C design rules and DOM regulations, I was sceptical about how this new browser would render pages. My worries were put to rest when the words “Powered by Mozilla”, meaning that pages should look exactly as they do in Firefox, which of course is no bad thing.
As with Firefox, you get a range of plug ins to install, everything from helping you browse the web better to fun and games. How you browse is up to.
Security wise, I have not heard of any issues regarding Flock putting your machine at risk, although as it is tied with social networking sites be sure to be careful with what you download, from applications on Facebook to links provided by spammers. Also, as you should be doing anyway, keep the browser updated!
I have not managed to play with all the functions yet, but so far its a quick browser, safe to use and ideal for all you hard social networking users out there. Get it at www.flock.com.
Networking is good – you never know what your going to find out next time!
