No, not an update that allows your Gran to play, but rather a huge 600MB update in the form of 1.05. But fear not, because apparently were are due for some nice new features. These new features include an Online Dealership and some new Online events held by Polyphonic Digital, a data backup mechanism and the ability to turn off the HUD. Maybe one day we’ll get to see 2 player split screen replay because they can be a laugh, but as of yet nothing in the pipeline I’m told.

Seems like the console battle has just got even more interesting today as it has been announced that the PS3 will be getting ITV Player and 4oD by the end of this week. PS3 owners will be sticking that in the face of XBox 360 owners as a one up on them. That means PS3 owners can catch up on pretty much all of their favourite programs from the main UK channels. 29/12/2010 UPDATE – Please see my update below in the comments section. On the day that I wrote this, there was exceptional amount of online activity which also slowed down single player experience. I have not, since then, had any issues with slow loading times. If you are updating to 1.05, be warned its a 600MB update and will take a long time to download and install. If you are playing it for the first time and experiencing long loading times, then this is probably because GT5 installs data onto your PS3 of each track, car etc. so that it performs better when you next play with that car /...

I have noticed a significant difference between the games of today and the games of yesteryear. The lack of creativity stands out the most, with minor exceptions such as Little Big Planet and, er, Little Big Planet 2 due out next year. By the way, when I say yesteryear, I am referring also to the Playstation 2. Nothing touches the supreme variety of the games on Playstation 2, nothing. I mean, look at Ico. Okami.
